Shooting 1000-Block Jefferson
On March 26, 2026, at about 8:00 p.m., officers with the Cape Girardeau Police
Department responded to the 1000-Block of Jefferson in reference to shots fired.
Officers received a ShotSpotter alert indicating shots were fired in the 1000-Block of
Bloomfield and the 400-Block of S. Hanover along with multiple calls.
Upon arrival, officers located one juvenile victim with a gunshot wound in the 1000-
Block of Jefferson. The victim was transported to an area hospital with what appeared
to be non-life threatening injuries.
Officers also located a vehicle that appeared to have been shot during the incident in
the 1000-Block of Bloomfield.
At this time, no arrests have been made and anyone with information is encouraged to
