Shooting 1000-Block Locust
On February 13, 2026, at about 12:52 p.m., officers with the Cape Girardeau Police
Department responded to the 1000 - Block of Locust in reference to assist other
agency.
Dispatch advised Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers were on scene at the location
attempting to serve an arrest warrant. During the encounter, Troopers reported that a
single shot was fired. Preliminary investigation indicates the shot was self-inflicted by
the suspect.
Medical personnel transported the suspect to an area hospital for treatment.
The Cape Girardeau Criminal Investigation Division is overseeing the investigation into
this incident.
