Search Warrant
On January 22, 2026, at about 3:15 p.m., officers with the Cape Girardeau Police
Department along with CGPD Special Response Team responded to the 500-Block of
S. Frederick to conduct a search warrant. Officers had previously obtained a search
warrant for the residence for Tommy Tipler Jr. (32) of Cape Girardeau. Tipler was
wanted for a no-bond warrant for harassment 1st and was known to be at the residence.
While officers were en route to the residence, surveillance teams advised Tipler had left
the residence in a vehicle. Officers were able to follow the vehicle and conduct a traffic
stop near William and S. West End Blvd. where Tipler was taken into custody for the
outstanding warrant.
After Tipler was taken into custody, officers proceeded to the primary residence in the
500-Block of S. Frederick where the search warrant was conducted on the residence.
During a search of the residence, officers located a quantity of pills suspected to be
ecstasy along with a quantity of suspected fentanyl.
Tipler was formally charged through the Cape Girardeau County Prosecutors Office with
two counts of Class C felony of delivery of a controlled substance. Tipler is currently
being held without bond.
An offense charge is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until
proven guilty.
