300 – BLOCK NORTH KINGSHIGHWAY FATAL VEHICLE CRASH
On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at approximately 4:32 p.m., officers with the Cape
Girardeau Police Department responded to the 300 – Block of North Kingshighway for
an injury crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2003 Yamaha FZS10 was traveling
northbound on Kingshighway when a 2014 Buick Encore was pulling out of a private
drive to travel east bound, crossing Kingshighway when the motorcycle struck the rear
passenger side of the SUV.
During the crash, the driver of the motorcycle was ejected from the motorcycle. He was
taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center where he later succumbed to his
injuries. The driver of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash;
however, it apparently came off during the crash.
Officers arriving on the scene located the following vehicles:
Vehicle 1 (V1) 2003 Yamaha FZS10
Driver 1 (D1) Robin Lankford (46), Jackson, MO
Deceased
Vehicle 2 (V2) 2014 Buick Encore
Driver 2 (D2) Michael Moser (59), Senath, MO
Not Injured
The Cape Girardeau Police Department reconstruction team continues to investigate
this incident.
