Assault 1st Degree
On January 30, 2026, at about 5:50 a.m., officers with the Cape Girardeau Police
Department responded to an area hospital for a report of an assault.
The victims reported being assaulted by a male subject identified as, Coleton Geiser
(19) of Cape Girardeau. Geiser allegedly assaulted both victims in the 0-100 Block of S.
West End Blvd. on January 30th at about 1:30 a.m.
Geiser struck one of the victims in the face multiple times resulting in serious physical
injuries including multiple fractures in the victims jaw. Geiser struck the other victim
multiple times causing lacerations to the victims face and attempted to strangle the
victim causing bruising around the victim’s neck.
At about 7:30 a.m. officers located Geiser in the 2500-Block of Peach Tree in Cape
Girardeau where he was taken into custody and transported to the Cape Girardeau
Police Department pending formal charges.
Geiser, was formally charged through the Cape Girardeau County Prosecutors Office
with Class A felony assault in the first degree, and Class E felony assault in the third
degree. Geiser, is currently being held on a $100,000 cash only bond.
An offense charge is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until
proven guilty.
