Approval Of Minutes: Chairman Huston requested to table the approval of minutes until the next meeting due to lack of time for the workshop. 3. NEW BUSINESS A. PRS Project Review & Workshop Director Thompson reviewed a power point that brought up goals and challenges for PRS 2. The board would like to see the PRS 1 Project list of what was completed. A campaign committee would be devised with key people on it to run the campaign. As an overview Director Thompson went through each park and facilities within our department and pointed out what could use improvements. She and the board then discussed the PRS 2 Tax Strategy. As of now the tax would be for 15 years, with 1/8 cent permanent for Parks and 1/8 permanent for Stormwater. The other portion of the tax would sunset after 15 years and the funds would be divided between both groups. This would generate approximately $26 million. City Council would like to see the focus of the campaign be on maintaining what we have. There will be a council workshop held in August to discuss which projects would be funded by the tax. A list of potential projects was handed out to the board. The list included top 5 projects from each division. Some of these projects could possibly be supported with partnership funds from other entities. Criteria for these projects included safety, maintenance, fiscal effectiveness, economic impact, and quality of life. A full list of projects will be emailed out to the board. Each project was discussed in depth. Director Thompson asked for the board to review projects and to come back with any questions. She informed them that as Parks and Recreation Advisory Board members, it is their role to be ambassadors for this tax and these projects. B.
