Present: Fran Austin, Amy Trueblood, David Diveley, John McGowan, John
Voss, Rekha Patterson, Lucas Haley
Also present: Director Betty Martin, Linda Bailiff
Absent: Stacy Dohogne Lane, Ed Thompson
President Amy Trueblood called the meeting to order at 7:00am.
The June minutes were reviewed. Fran made a motion to approve the minutes,
seconded by Lucas. Motion passed.
The bills were reviewed. John M. made a motion to approve the bills,
seconded by Fran. Motion passed.
Staff update: Looking for a part time person for the User Services Dept. to work
days.
Equipment: The large middle shade at the end of the “River” is broken and may
be costly to repair. The new Syrsi server has arrived and will be installed as soon
as possible.
Grant Updates:
Website: The basic design has been approved and now is being programmed. A
better event calendar is being pursued. Could be up and running in a month.
Strategic Planning / OrangeBoy: The Stakeholder survey has been sent out and 20
of the 51 contacts responded with some good comments. New and active
cardholder survey should go out this week. Please respond. The survey results
will be shared by OrangeBoy representatives at the October board meeting.
Recent Publicity:
Whitney Vandeven was recognized as one of the “Newsmakers” and Director
Martin attended the reception.
An editorial was written in the Southeast Missourian about the Daddy-Daughter
Hair Factory program at the library.
Director Martin represented the library at TBY’s Sr. Expo.
The Fall Book Sale sales were $4865 (before expenses) – the best ever. Publicity
included over 17,000 views on Facebook and a 1 hour visit on Cousin Carl’s radio
program.
President Amy Trueblood adjourned the meeting at 7:35 am.
