Minutes of Previous Meeting: The meeting was called to order at 6:15 pm. Mr. Bohnsack moved and Mr. Welker seconded the motion to approve the minutes from the November 8, 2016 meeting. The motion was approved with a unanimous vote. II. Appearances: A. Molly Hood, Deputy City Manager III. Old Business: A. Airport Activity Report — Mr. Loy addressed the airport activity report for November 2016. He stated that the November numbers looked great with the exception of the airline enplanements. This was in part due to cancellations from weather and mechanical issues. He expressed that all traffic numbers were up 4% from last year, with instrument traffic up 6%. Fuel sales up 14% for the month and up 17% year to date. Jet A sales, however, were down 1,500 gallons which Mr. Irwin expressed was not a big concern due to fluctuations in traffic. The Board was happy that the year was ending on a good note. Mr. Cork presented a brief overview of the meeting held by Cape Air discussing the ongoing relationship between the Cape Girardeau Airport and Cape Air Airlines. The representatives from Cape Air included Mr. Dan Wolf, Founder and CEO; Mr. Andrew Bonney, Sr. Vice President of Planning; and Mr. Matt Reinhardt, Regional Director of Midwest and Montana. Mr. Cork expressed that the Board's main concerns were based on scheduling issues, i.e. cancellations. The meeting also touched on the possibility of moving the service from St. Louis to another hub airport such as Chicago or Atlanta that would better suit the needs of the customers using the service. Cape Air personnel were very receptive to all the needs and concerns presented to them by the Board and airport staff. They expressed great interest improving their services and moving forward with the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport. B. Cape Aviation Activity Report — Mr. Irwin presented the Cape Aviation usage report for November 2016. Mr. Irwin informed the board that the month of November saw an increase in jet traffic from both Menards and Military traffic. Mr. Irwin stated that he had already gone through two loads of jet fuel since the start of December which is not very common for this time of year. When asked about the forklift and any increase in freight operations, Mr. Irwin informed the Board that he had reached out to different companies to let them know Cape Aviation was now able to offer freight services. Mr. Loy added that he would personally reach out to these companies as well in hopes to increase the freight services requested. Mr. Bohnsack suggested waiting until after the holidays to reach out to avoid trying to reach people who were on vacation. Mr. Loy very briefly discussed that the fuel prices were being kept in the "green" and were being monitored closely during the three (3) month trial to see whether this has any effect on fuel sales. IV. New Business: A. 2016 Year in Review — Mr. Loy and Ms. Katrina Amos presented a year in review presentation highlighting all of the activities at the airport including, operational changes, special events, purchase of new equipment, and structural improvements made in 2016.
