I. Old Business
A. Discussion Regarding EAS Request for Proposal - There being only four members’
present, there was no quorum; however, the members present were able to discuss the
Essential Air Service (EAS) process as well as various possible air service scenarios.
Discussion ensued as to what will best serve the region. The Board was able to clarify
exactly what the EAS program requires from the participating airports and airlines. Mr.
Cork further explained the airline selection process to the members who were not present
at the previous meeting. Options such as other hub destinations, better aircraft, and
optimized scheduling were deliberated. Ms. Amos informed the Board that the RFP’s
had been issued on May 10th and airline proposals are due to the Department of
Transportation by June 15th. Once received, the Board will review the proposals and
provide their recommendation to the City Council.
Mr. Cork and Ms. Amos would discuss the Board’s ideas and recommendations to Bruce
Loy, Airport Manager, who was unable to attend the meeting.
