The bills were reviewed.
Repairs: The HVAC system has a water leak that was discovered to be from an
underground pipe. Rather than dig up the pipe to repair it, it was decided to
bypass the underground pipe and run new ones above ground that will be
supported to run on the upper side of the building. The repair cost will be
$16,950. After discussion, John V. made a motion to repair the system as
quoted, seconded by John M. Motion passed.
Also, an expansion valve was replaced which is part of the cooling system that
cools the youth services area. Associated Sheet Metal said that due to this year’s
major repair issues, they would not charge the library for the expansion valve
repair.
It was also discovered that part of the software that controls the HVAC system
needed to be “rebooted”. The Siemens company came and fixed the computer
program at a cost of $840.
A fuse was replaced on the book sorter.
The control switch on the front of the money safe was also replaced.

BUDGET
COMMITTEE
Lab Conversion: A design window film was added for some privacy, the room
signs have been changed and casters have been added to the tables in the creativity
lab. MO Vocational Enterprises sent a representative to begin the quoting process
for cabinets and a counter. An electrician will also be needed. The additions may
cost approximately $10,000.
Strategic Plan: The Orange Boy strategic plan draft was presented and the board
felt that the plan was too vague and would like to see more specific direction on
how to achieve the goals. Stacy made a motion to approve the Strategic Plan
as a foundation to move forward, seconded by Fran. Motion passed.
Additional payments from the State: The library received the second and final
annual State Aid payment for $6,743 and an Out-of-state Athlete and
Entertainment tax payment of $2,274. Also, the A&E tax was renewed to 2030.

submitted to the MO Ethics Commission every 2 years. John V. made a motion
to approve the policy, seconded by Dave. Motion passed.

Tax Preparation: The library was one of eight tax preparation sites. There were
450 federal and state income tax returns prepared as well as at least 250 MO

were answered.

on the RB Digital app/site which cardholders use to access on-line magazines.
