B. Next Steps: Overview / Discussion on PRS2 Initiative
i. Director Jones began by stating that the tax money will start collecting in January 2019.
She mentioned that the plans for Capaha Park are being discussed now. The prospect
league is pushing renovations forward by contributing to some projects. Phil Cantoni had
questions about an article that was printed on the Capaha renovations. He said it was
misleading. Julia will look up the article and forward out to everyone. Director Jones
confirmed that the PRS2 money will go towards the lights, restroom/concession stand and
the surrounding fence. The grandstands may be improved by the prospect league.
Currently they are devising a committee to decide on the details. They will also be hiring a
consultant. Tracey thinks it’s important for the committee members to meet before they
meet with the consultant. Tracey also wanted to know what will happen with the bubble
before the new pool is built. Director Jones informed her they there are plans to improve
the pump system, deck lighting, and repainting. The rest of the projects are being looked
at and a time frame will be laid out for them. Once Julia receives more information she will
inform the board.
C. Cape Splash Pump Room Repairs
i. Recreation Division Manager Penny Williams reported that they turned the pump system
on last week and everything is running smoothly. Everything is on schedule to open
Memorial Day weekend.

i. Director Jones handed out ballots for the voting on a new board member. Candidates
include Beverly Evans, Jeff Green, Brian Allerding, Wesley Cox, and George Gasser. The
board members informed each other about the candidates if they knew of them and then
they voted. Chairman Huston also informed the board that in October two of the
committee members would be terming out which would mean they will need two more
members. He would like for everyone to start thinking of recommendation now. After the
votes were tallied, it was determined that Beverly Evans would be the newest board
member.
C. Selection of Vice Chair of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
