Board Members Present: Kevin Noel, Chairperson Pete Frazier, Vice Chairperson Darrin Bruenderman Tamara Buck David Cantrell Anne Dohogne Lewis Jackson Hill Percy Huston Philip Moore Mark Stone Parks and Recreation Department Staff Present Doug Gannon, Director of Parks & Recreation Kaed Horrell, Parks Division Manager Kim Butler, Administrative Coordinator Absent Dr. Beverly Evans, Secretary Nathan Thomas, Council Liaison Chairperson Kevin Noel called the meeting to order and asked if everyone had a chance to look at the May 2023 meeting minutes and if there were any changes to be made. No changes were introduced and the minutes were approved without opposition. Doug Gannon introduced Kaed Horrell as our new Parks Division Manager. At 5:30 the Board walked to Cape Splash Family Aquatic Center for a tour. The group then got into two vans and proceeded to tour Jefferson Park, Ranney Park, Central Municipal Pool, Cherry Hill, The Rose Garden, Dennis Scivally Park, SportsPlex and ended at the Osage Centre. The group adjourned at 7:35. Next Board Meeting – Monday, July 10, 2023. The Park and Recreation Advisory Board of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, may, as a part of the regular or special Park and Recreation Advisory Board meeting, hold a closed session to discuss legal action, causes of legal action of litigation, leasing, purchasing or sale of real estate, hiring, firing, disciplining, promotion of personnel or employee labor relations, or confidential or privileged communications with its attorneys.. Specifically, the Park and Recreation Advisory Board will hold a closed session to discuss legal actions and litigation, confidential communications with legal counsel, property acquisition and personnel matters, pursuant to RSMo. Sections 610.021(2) and 610.021(3).
