HomeMy WebLinkAboutAirport.Minutes.03-14-1983 Airport Board March 14, 1983 Those Present: Dave Patterson, Acting Chairman Truman Cole, Board Member Glenn Reeves, Board Member Jerry McClanahan, Secretary Robert E. Gass The meeting was called to order by Acting Chairman, Dave Patterson. Motion by Truman Cole: That we accept budget as per planned. Seconded by Jerry McClanahan. Discussion: Noted by Patterson that we should have an agenda in advance and also for Board to consider a budget of this size and amount in a short time to review. Discussion of the budget matter included a statement by the Board members that a matter of the importance of the annual bt:det tihould, out of respect of the Board, nct be presented at the opening of the meeting. This precludes any serious study or consideration of the items and tr.erefore results in a "rubber stamp" action by the $oard Furtiier discussion: Suggesting that we should have an agenda if possible mailed to Board Members in advance, if it can be worked out between Chairman and Bob Gass, Airport Manager. The second item on the agenda was Ralph Gilges, representing Lowe's Southern Clay, Inc. and also Air Transportation Committee. He suggested that a display case at the airport is not only an asset, but almost to the degree of a sore eye. Further suggesting that maybe Lowes Southern Clay could put up an illiminated case showing the worlds largest Kitty Litter Mfg, hoping that other manufacturings would follow, such as Lone Start, Proctor Gamble, etc. Chairman appointed Jerry McClanahan to work with Ralph Gilges toward new display in Airport Lobby and report back to Airport Board next month. Robert Gass reported about Air Transportation Committee meeting with Roger Street of Ai.r Illinois concerning fiights. Meeting was adjourned at 8:43 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Jerry cClanahan JM:mu March 16, 1983 .
