Cape Girardeau Public Library
Mission: The mission of the Cape Girardeau Public Library is to be the community's first choice for information
gathering experiences through social interaction, programming, technology, and the written word for all ages.
I. Approval of minutes of the last meeting
II. Public Comments - Individuals who wish to make comments must be first recognized by the
President. Each speaker is allowed 3 minutes and they must sign in prior to the start of the
meeting.
III. President's Report
A. Discussion of 2023-2024 Officers

A. Financial report and monthly expenditures
B. 2023-2024 Board Calendar (ACTION ITEM)
C. Communications
V. Committee Reports
A. Building and Grounds: Red Redinger, Chair
B. Bylaws and Policy: Amy Trueblood, Chair
a) Personnel Manual (ACTION ITEMS)
(1) Dress, Gum Chewing, Telephone Use, etc: No changes
recommended.
(2) Organization of the Library: Changes recommended to modify
position classifications.
(3) Employment Practices: Changes to modify how vacant positions
are publicized and wording changes to match new position
classifications.
(4) Full Personnel Manual: All references to new position
classifications modified.
b) Board of Trustees Manual
(1) Trustee Ethics Statement and Form: No changes recommended.
c) Library Manual: (ACTION ITEMS)
(1) Circulation Policy: No changes recommended.
(2) Public Forum Areas: New policy recommended for approval.
(3) Patron Code of Conduct: Change of service animal wording and
addition of language referring to new Public Forum Area policy.
