Cape Girardeau Public Library Board of Trustees

Purpose of Special Meeting: To discuss and approve policy additions and changes
I. Call to Order
it. Policy Committee Update (ACTION ITEMS)
a. Collection Management Policy: Added age recommendation and
modified reconsideration language.
b. Request of Reconsideration: New policy
c. Use Policy: Changes card eligibility from 16 years to 18 years old and
adds language about parental involvement. Also adds eligibility
requirements for reciprocal borrowers.
d. Display of Library Materials and Promotional Information Policy:
New policy
e. Meeting Room Policy: Added language that requires users to put age
designations on meeting room use.
f. Youth Program Room Policy: Added language that requires users to
put age designations on meeting room use.
g. Art Exhibit Policy: Added language that requires artists to put age-
appropriate designations on art exhibits.
III. Other Policies to Review: No changes recommended
a. Unattended Children Policy
b. Suspension of Privileges for Health and Safety Concerns
c. Bylaws for the Board of Trustees
d. Extended Leave of Absence
e. Nursing Mothers and Workplace Lactation
IV. Next Regular Meeting:
June 29, 2023 @ 7am.
