RE: Appointments and Organizational Meeting
Congratulations to you all! At Monday's City Council meeting you
were appointed to the Cape Girardeau Historic Preservation
Commission by the City Council. The appointees and their initial
terms of office are as follows:

Martha Bender 3-year term
John Boardman 3-year term
John Schneider 3-year term
Art Mattingly 2-year term
Ken Hayden 2-year term
Mary Foote 2-year term
Bob White 1-year term
Kimberly Hagan 1-year term
Helen Hammond 1-year term
The Commission will need to meet, organize, and elect officers.
The officers will be a chairman, vice-chairman and secretary.
Staff services will be provided by the Division of Planning
Services, Office of the City Manager. This will include myself,
Ken Eftink (Planning Coordinator) , Brenda Schloss (secretary) and
Beckie Figliolo (secretary) . We are all located in City Hall and
our phone number is 334-4466. Brenda will be in charge of
handling day-to-day business, and commission agendas and minutes.
In order to get going, I am suggesting that you have an
organizational meeting on Tuesday, May 15th, at 7: 00 p.m. in the
City Council Chambers. At the organizational meeting, you will
need to establish a regular meeting date and place. For your
information, I am enclosing a copy of the City Hall meeting
schedule. In addition to the boards listed, the Board of
Adjustment also meets in City Hall on -the first Thursday of the
month.
If you cannot make the meeting on May 15th, please call Brenda and
suggest an alternative date. In the meantime, if you need a copy
of the Historic Preservation Ordinance or want to discuss other
matters, please give us a call. Again, congratulations and we
look forward to working with each of you and the Commission as a
whole.
