Roll call. ems Upon motion made, the minutes of the December 14, 1995 meeting were unanimously approved. New Business: The Board discussed procedures for reviewing the 1996 BOCA Codes for adoption. Rick Murray reported that the new codes will not be available for review until February. On January 8, 1996, the City Council approved an ordinance expanding the Board of Appeals from five members to seven members. The Board discussed the implications of this change and what subsequent actions might be required from the Board. It was noted that as presently stated in the Code, architects and construction contractors were considered to be from the same field. David Pfeiffer noted that the Board, presently made up of two construction contractors and two architects, may currently be in violation of the ordinance. Dave Pfeiffer motioned that the Board recommend to the Council that separate categories for architects and general contractors be created. Dave Alberson seconded the motion and motion passed by a 5-0 vote in favor. It was also noted that the 1993 BOCA Building Code Section 121.5 would need to be amended to reflect the seven member board and that Section 121.6, Board Decision, would need to be amended to "a concurring vote of four members." Additionally, the rules of procedure would also have to be amended to specify that a quorum is four members. MINUTES BOARD OF APPEALS JANUARY 11, 1996 PAGE 2.
