The Board of Appeals met Thursday, September 14, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, 401 Independence St.
Members Present:
Dave Alberson, Roy Halbert, Ralph Maxton, Dave Pfeiffer, Tony
Sebek, Jim Arnzen (Alternate)
Members Absent:
None
Call to order at 7:00 p.m. by Ralph Maxton, Chairman.
Roll call.
Upon motion made, the minutes of the July 13, 1995 meeting were unanimously approved.
Variance Requests:
Anton Sebek, representing the City of Cape Girardeau, requested variance from the 1993
BOCA Plumbing Code, Section P-1204.1 and Table P-1204, Minimum Number of Plumbing
Facilities, to reduce the required number of plumbing facilities in the proposed community
building to be built at the southwest corner of North Kingshighway and Mt. Auburn Road.
Roy Halbert motioned to approve the variance as requested. Jim Arnzen seconded the
motion and motion passed by a 3-0 vote in favor. Members Tony Sebek, Dave Pfeiffer and
Dave Alberson abstained from voting due to their involvement in the project. The building
will contain: eight (8) water closets, eight (8) urinals and twelve (12) lavatories in the men's
restrooms and sixteen (16)water closets and twelve (12) lavatories in the women's restroom.
Upon motion made, the meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m. The next meeting of the Board of
Appeals is scheduled for October 12, 1995.
