Cape Girardeau Public Library
Mission: The mission of the Cape Girardeau Public Library is to be the community's first choice for information
gathering experiences through social interaction, programming, technology, and the written word for all ages.
I. Approval of minutes of the last meeting
II. Public Comments - Individuals who wish to make comments must be first recognized by the
President. Each speaker is allowed 3 minutes and they must sign in prior to the start of the
meeting.
III. President's Report
A. Reciprocal Borrowing Agreement Committee Update (ACTION ITEM)

A. Financial report and monthly expenditures

A. Building and Grounds: Red Redinger, Chair
B. Bylaws and Policy: Amy Trueblood, Chair
1. Personnel Manual: (ACTION ITEMS)
a) Social Media Policy: no changes just pulled employee wording into a
separate policy. Library Social Media policy will be presented at a later
ineeting.
b) Attendance at Conferences: changes recommended to clarify language
about pay rates while at conferences.
c) Employee Code of Ethics: no changes recommended.
d) Parental Leave: Recommend change to increase paid leave time to 10
weeks, up from 6 weeks.
2. Board Bylaws: (ACTION ITEM)
a) Public Communications with the Board: Recommend removal of Section
3D.
3. Library Manual: (ACTION ITEMS)
a) Confidentiality of Patron Information, Freedom to Read, and Library Bill
of Rights: no changes recommended.
b) Weapons Policy: No changes recommended.
C. Budget: TBD, Chair
D. Personnel: Stacy Lane, Chair
E. Public Relations: Jessica Hill, Chair
