PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD MAY 10, 2021 PAGE 3 REPORTS/PROJECT UPDATES A. PARKS & RECREATION PROJECT UPDATES Parks Division Manager Davis reported the Cherry Hill Project at Capaha Park is going really well. Proposals came in for the playground and one with a musical theme was chosen as it tied in well to the rest of the park. Weather has not been cooperating and the band shell area is behind schedule. If it is not able to be completed by June, Plan B is to use the shelter area for the band and allow people to sit in the grassy area. Bids for the pond should go out in May and hopefully some drainage can be completed this fall. The Rose Garden is in final site design with infrastructure. The plan is to make the garden and parking lot more level in order to make it ADA accessible. The Garden Club gave final approval for the changes at the Rose Garden. He also reported that new mural was going to be painted on the wall at the river on the Themis side, and Danny Essner and group will be re-doing the existing mural. Potential ideas for Indian Park were discussed. Secretary Stilson had questions regarding the drainage and timing of the pond at Capaha.
