The Commission discussed information presented regarding the Route

AB extension project. A Resolution was presented confirming support for

motion to approve the Resolution was 10 in favor and none in opposition.
; : ; The Commission also reviewed the Transportation section of the
" ; ; ,; proposed Capital Improvements Program for 2002-2007. The City Council will
; have a Resolution on its agenda for March 18, 2002, to adopt the Capital
Improvements Program for 2002-2007. !
Proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance regarding townhouses �
�; was presented to the Commission along with a copy of the ordinance relating
� to townhouses from Scottsdale, Arizona. Chairman Rediger appointed Scott
� Rhodes, Thomas Holshouser, and Gregory Williams to serve on a committee
.�
� ; ; to develop an ordinance amendment for townhouse development.

Kent Bratton, City Planner, reported to the Commission that the Council held a public
hearing and first reading of the ordinance governing telecommunication towers. The second and
third reading of this ordinance will be held at the Council's March 18�' meeting. During the
Council's discussion of this ordinance, members asked that the Commission review its
notification policy to expand it to a second tier of property owners on telecommunication tower
applications.
After some discussion, the Commission felt that the current notification process, which is
to notify abutting property owners, is sufficient in this regard and that no change will be made at
this time.
