5. That the request of Rupert C. and Helen V. Meyer and Thomas L. and Helen M. Meyer
and The Metropolitan Community Church of Southeast Missouri for a Special Use Permit
for a church and church related work at 833 North Spanish Street in an R-2, Single
Family Residential District, be recommended for approval. The vote on the motion to
approve the request was 10 in favor and 0 in opposition. There were no citizens present
in opposition to this development.
6. That the request of Cape Girardeau School District No. 63 to rezone 61 North Clark
Avenue from R-4, Multiple Family Residential District, to M-1, Light Industrial District,
be recommended for approval. The vote on the motion to approve the request was 9 in
favor and 0 in opposition, with 1 abstention.
7. The Commission reviewed the proposed improvement plans for the widening of Siemers
Drive. The vote on the motion to approve the plans was 9 in favor and 0 in opposition,
with 1 abstention.
The Commission received information gathered from various other cities regarding
� cellular communication towers and scheduled a special study session for June 21, 2001, to begin
their review of this information.
