Robin Williams of the Washington ' 5chool PTA during the i99-95 school year, our PTA executive council has authorized me to speak to you on behalf of our school about the development of TJashington Park. Approximately three years ago our student body joined in a contest to determine the name of our new neighborhood park, and the name "Washington Park" was selected by the Farks and Recreation Department. That same spring the faculty and stu- dents of Washington School spent one school-day afternoon - planting the trees in Washington Park. ;Je were excited: an attractive , new park was being bui"lt in our neighborhood: Since that time , the ground has been seeded two park benches installed, and a sign nlaced at Washington and N:iddle Streets designating it as "Washington Park. " iVe have anxiously awaited the installation of playground equipment , but to no avail. We had hoped two or more picnic tables would be placed under the lare old trees which border the park on Washington Street. Again, to no avail. The Washington School PTA requests that funding for the further development of lashington Park be provided in the i99-95 capital improvements program, so that within the next year we will have facilities which can be utilized and enjoyed by our students and the entire neighborhood. • Respectfully submitted Brenda Dohogne , ?;Jashington School PTA Co-President, 199-95
