SPECIAL SESSION - SEPTF.MBER 1, 1994
Council convened in a special joint session with the Airport Advisory Board on
Thursday, September 1, 1994, at 12:00 noon with Mayor Al Spradling III presiding and
Council Members Richard Eggimann, Melvin Gateley, Melvin Kasten, Tom Neumeyer,
Jack Rickard and JJ Williamson present.
Members of the Airport Advisory Board present were Dan �verbey, Steve Robertson,
Bill Walker, and Mike Wandrich. Allan Maki, Steve Nesler and J. Fred Waltz were
absent.
Mayor Spradling stated that the purpose of the meeting was to hear a presentation by
officials of Air Evac regarding the Fixed Based Operation at the Cape Girardeau
Municipal Airport.
Mr. William Chritton, Jr., Chairman of the Board for Air Evac, gave background on the
company and the management team. He introduced Mr. Jim Lentz, President of the
company, and Mr. Sherman Watson, Director of Operations. Together they explained
their intentions for a Fixed Based Operation at the airport.
Following their presentation, Council members, Board members and City staff questioned
the Air Evac team about various aspects of their proposed operation.
After discussion, Dr. Kasten made a motion, seconded by Mr. Neumeyer, that Council
convene in executive session for the purpose of discussing litigation. The motion was
approved upon the following vote: Ayes, Eggimann, Gateley, Kasten, Neumeyer,
Rickard, Spradling, Williamson. Nays, none.
There being no further business, the Council convened to execution session.
