SPECIAL SESSION—FEBRUARY 8, 2002
The Cape Girardeau City Council convened in special session on Friday, February 8, 2002, at
12:00 noon with Mayor Albert M. Spradling III presiding and Council Members Richard
Eggimann, Tom Neumeyer, and Hugh White present. Matthew Hopkins, Jay Purcell, Frank
Stoffregen were absent.
Mayor Spradling stated that the February 5, 2002, primary municipal election results had been
received from County Clerk Rodney Miller. Pursuant to Section 7.08(a) of the City Charter, the
City Council canvassed the returns and declared the results of the February 5, 2002, primary
municipal election, upon Mr. White's motion, Mr. Eggimann's second, and the following vote:
Ayes, Eggimann, Neumeyer, Spradling, White. Nays, none. The results of the election were as
follows:
Mayor
Jay Knudtson 1,503
Walter White 95
Melvin R. Gateley 986
Stan K. Wicks 86
There being no further business, the Council adjourned upon Mr. Eggimann's motion, Mr.
Neumeyer's second, and the following vote: Ayes, Eggimann, Neumeyer, Spradling, White.
Nays,none.
