City Planner Kent Bratton presented in the agenda packet a summary of the Biokyowa Rail Spur Project. There being no appearances, the hearing was closed. Ms. Lillian Schneider appeared in opposition to Bill No. 2001-215 relating to the naming of Mt. Auburn Road from Bloomfield Road to its terminus with South Kingshighway. She stated she owns property at the intersection of the new portion of Southern Expressway and South Kingshighway. In all documents she has since 1990, the road has been referred to as Highway 74 or Southern Expressway. If the street is renamed, she felt this would adversely affect her property value. Southern Expressway is generally lmown as industrial and Mt. Auburn Road is not. Her property is zoned M-1, and she requested that the Southern Expressway street name be maintained up to Silver Springs Road. Mr. Larry Dowdy appeared and questioned whether there would be discussion regarding parking on New Madrid Street. Mr. Purcell responded that the City Engineer has indicated that the parking will continue as it was prior to the construction. Ms. Tammy Adams, 1626 New Madrid, presented a petition on behalf of the residents of New Madrid Street protesting the no parking signs and/or restrictions of parking that are being suggested for New Madrid Street between West End Boulevard and Perryville Road. The petition requested that parking be maintained on both sides of New Madrid Street, including the corner lots. Mr. Richard Bolwerk appeared and stated he came before the City Council about six wee'ics ago regarding a water problem on Parksite; however, he has not yet been contacted by city staff.
