SUBJECT: CANCELLATION OF DECEMBER 12TH PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION MEETING

December 12th Planning Commission Meeting Cancelled,
Maior Street Plan Work Continued
The regular meeting of the Cape Girardeau Planning and Zoning
Commission scheduled for Wednesday, December 12th, at 7: 00 P.M. in
City Hall has been cancelled as a result of a lack of regular
agenda business. The cancellation was approved at the
Commission's special study session at 4: 00 P.M. on Tuesday,
December 4th. Kent Bratton, City Planner, stated that it was a
rare occasion when the Commission did not have business to take
care of.
The special study session on Tuesday was devoted to further
consider matters related to updating the City's Major Street Plan.
At the meeting, the Commission discussed major street alignments,
functional classifications, street design standards, and
priorities for construction, improvement/reconstruction,
preliminary engineering, and project engineering. These and other
items will be o�en to further public discussion at subsequent
� Commission meetings. The Tuesday meeting continued the formal
public hearing on the Major Street Plan.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission is
at 7: 00 P.M. , Wednesday, January 9, 1991. The Commission
discussed the possibility of having another special meeting to
work on the Major Street Plan, pending input from the Missouri
Highway and Trans�ortation Department concerning the results of
the current traffic count inventory.

The Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a Special Study
Session at 4:00 P.M. , Tuesday, December 4, 1990, at City Hall, 401
Independence Street. This study session is for the purpose of
prioritizing the proposed streets for the revised major street
plan for the City of Cape Girardeau.
