The Commission received a memorandum from Mayor A1 Spradling regarding the
Transportation Sales Tax. Kent Bratton discussed the memo with Commissioners regarding the
request to set out a list of priorities from projects included with the memo which could be
funded if the Transportation Sales Tax issued is passed. The Commissioners asked that they be
provided with estimated costs on these projects as soon as they are available. A special meeting
was scheduled for Wednesday, April 5, 1995, at 5:00 P.M. to review this information and work
on the priority list.
In other matters, the Commission discussed lack of sufficient information on staff reviews
for subdivision plats on their agendas. The Commissioners would like to have staff review
comments included in their agenda packages. Many times this information may not be received
until the time of the meeting. Several options were discussed on how to handle the situation.
The Commission voted to contact local developers, engineers and surveyors and give them the
opportunity to attend the April Planning and Zoning meeting and discuss consideration of setting
an agenda deadline for submitting subdivision plats to the Commission at three (3) weeks prior
to the regular meeting date.
The Commission elected a new slate of officers for the upcoming year. Harry Rediger
was elected as Chairman for the Commission, R. J. McKinney as Vice-Chairman, and Jim Crain
as Secretary.
