for Mr. Davis at 528 Helena Street, in an R-2,
Single Family Residential, zone be recommended for
approval.
2 . That the request of James H. and Rita V. Kuss,
Joseph R. and JoNeal G. Kuss, and William H. and
Betty J. Kuss for a Special Use Permit for a funeral
chapel in the 2800 block of William Street in an
R-1, Single Family Residential, zone, be recommended
for denial.

rezone 1104 , 1108 , and 1110 William Street and 131
South Hanover Street from R-4, Multiple Family
Residential, to C-1, Local Commercial District, zone
be recommended for approval.
A presentation was made by Mr. Frank Bean concerning his
approved request to the City Council that the width of E1 Rio Drive
be changed from 30 feet to 20 feet. He asked that the Commission
rescind their previous recommendation to the Council and make no
recommendation at all. The Commission decided to leave their
recommendation as made at their meeting of April 12 , 1989.
Copies of the proposed Historical Preservation Ordinance were
distributed to Commission members for their review. Since this
ordinance will require the holding of a public hearing, a date of
June 14, 1989, was set to hold the public hearing before the
Planning and Zoning Commission.
