To the Honorable Mayor and Council
of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Gentlemen:
The Planning and Zoning Commission met Wednesday, September
9, 1987. By majority vote, actual vote counted and in the file,
we act and/or recommend as follows :
1 . That the request of August W. Birk and Betty Birk
Roth for a Special Use Permit for a church at 10
North Sprigg Street in a C-3 zone be approved and
limited to the term of occupancy of the Progressive
Baptist Church.
2. That the request of E. R, Gemeinhardt and Robert
Penrod to rezone 2031 Perryville Road from R- 1 to
R-3 be approved.
� 3 . The request of Mr. Joseph Russell to allow his
rezoning and Special Use applications for propertv
on Broadway west of West End Boulevard to rernain
on the table until the October meeting was approved.
The Gommission was asked to reconsider for clarification
purposes the request of First Federal of Southeast Missouri for a
Special Use Permit for an R-4 use and a small office at 237 North
Fountain Street in a C- 1 zone which was recommended for approval
last month. In the earlier request the applicant stated that the
rear frame structures were to be removed leaving only the masonry
building. The appiicant wishes to amend that request to allow the
�rame porch to remain and that the balcony and ladder will be
removed and replaced with stairs. The Commission voted to
i�er_ommend the amendment as requested.
