5. The Commissioners held the required public hearing and reviewed amendments to the
Major Street Plan. There were no appearances during the public hearing. A Resolution
of Adoption was approved. The vote on the motion to approve the resolution was 10 in
favor and none in opposition.
6. The Commission set a date of February 8, 2006, for a special study session to review the
Downtown Traffic and Circulation Study. They requested the consultant attend this
meeting to discuss items of concern. Tim Arbeiter, Director of Old Town Cape,
presented a letter to the Commission from the board of directors of Old Town Cape
unanimously supporting the recommendation for changing Main Street to 2-way traffic.
7. Jay Stencel, City Engineer, discussed the revisions to the proposed amendments to the
Subdivision Regulations regarding sidewalks. The revisions were made after developers
voiced concerns to the Council regarding the ordinance. Mr. Stencel met with developers
to discuss those concerns and came to an agreeable solution for the installation of
sidewalks in new subdivisions.
8. Robb McClary, Inspection Services Director, presented the revised draft of the Sign
� Ordinance. The ordinance has been reviewed by the City Attorney and several changes
were made since the Commission last reviewed the proposed ordinance. Staff was
requested to notify local sign companies of the proposed ordinance and provide copies to
them for review. A public hearing date was set for the Sign Ordinance at the regular
February meeting.
9. Commissioners were provided with a copy of the summary portion of the Transportation
section of the draft Capital Improvements Program for fiscal 2006 —2011. Kent Bratton,
Director of Planning Services, requested the Commissioners review the information and
contact him with questions, comments or changes regarding the information.
