Chairman Smallwood asked about buildings that may be annexed that had not been
constructed to codes, and if there was anything the City could do. Mr. Bratton indicated that any
structures annexed were accepted as they were. If any work was done after they were annexed, it
would have to be done according to City codes.
Mr. Bratton discussed some annexations that were being processed. The White Oaks
Subdivision annexation should be complete about November 3rd. Annexation of Bloomfield
Road right-of-way is scheduled to begin on August 21St
Mr. Bratton also informed the Cominission that the City Council had authorized a
contract with Arcturis for development of a Comprehensive Plan for the City.
Chairman Smallwood commented on the joint meeting with the Jackson Planning and
Zoning Commission on August 2°d. All the Commissioners felt that the meeting was productive.
The Cape Girardeau Commission will host the meeting next year. No date has been set for the
meeting at this time.
