Leroy Coryea reported income for September 1982 was $21,900.52 compared to
September 1981 0£ $17,551.00. This makes five months in a roll that the
course has gone over $20,000.
The Assistant Greenskeeper, John Palmer asked to be relieved of his position
and be allowed to step down to the position he held before. Another employee,
Paul Cline has moved up the the assistant greenskeeper position as of
October 16. 1982.
Leroy reported on research he has made on covering for greens. Even the
cheapest netting is considerably higher than the cost he was spending on
the bales of straw. He stated that he would have trouble storing the covering
to keep it away from mice and that it would take the better grade of covering
to be able to reuse for several years. Which is approximately 40% more than
the bales of straw. He has talked to a local farmer and decided to try using
the st-aw in rolls. The straw in rolls is weaved together to give more strength.
It can be rolled out over the greens and will probably use crisscrossed twine
staked down on the sides to hold down from winds. He would like to try this
method on a couple problem greens this winter.
Total players for the calendar years were:1980 20,300
1981 22,700
