Gentlemen:
The Planning and Zoning Commission met on Wednesday May 14, 1975.
By majority vote, actual vote counted and in file, we recommend
as follows:
1. That the request of Cape Retirement Community, Inc. to rezone
a tract north and east of the intersection of Independence
and Mt. Auburn Road for a retirement complex to R-4 be approved
with the provision that right-of-way be furnished on the eastern
boundary of the tract for a possible 70' right-of-way in conjunction
with adjoining property for a possible north and south street.
2. That the request of Mary Blanche Head to park a mobile trailer
on lots 17 & 20, Block 1, Smelterville be denied.
3. That the request of Leroy Wilke for a Special Use Permit to
rebuild and store used autos in a building at 1906 So. Sprigg
Street be tabled.
4. That the request of Gary Lee Gay for a Special Use Permit to
operate a Group Day Center at 1469 David Street be denied.
5. That the request of William L. Abernathy to rezone property at
201 So. Minnesota from R-2 to C-1 be denied.
6. Discussion was held regarding a land plan for use of area known
as Schonhoff Farm with no action being taken.
7. An ordinance clarifying zoning ordinance in regard to construction
of canopies in front yards of Commercial Districts was tabled.

At the Council meeting of 5/7/ 1975 the following matter was referred
to you for study and recommendation:
1. Request of Cape Retirement Community, Inc. to rezone a tract north and east of the
intersection of Independence and Mt. Auburn Road for a retirement complex.
2. Request of Mary Blanche Head to part a mobil trailer on Lots 17 & 20 Block 1,
Smelterville.
3. Request of Leroy Wilke for a Special Use Permit to rebuild and store used autos
