To the Honorable Mayor and Councilmen
of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Gentlemen:
The Planning and Zoning Commission met Wednesday, April 11, 1979• $v
majority vote, actual vote counted and in the file, we recommend as follows:
1. That the request of the City of Cape Girardeau for a Special Use Permit
for a Central Fire Station at the southwest corner of Independence and
Sprigg Streets be approved.
2. That the preliminary plat of Greenwood First Subdivision be approved with
,r. the additional recommendation that Carolina Lane and Melrose Avenue be paved
where they border this subdivision.
3. That the preliminary plat of Greenwood Second Subdivision be approved with
the additional recommendation that Melrose Avenue be paved where it borders
this subdivision.
4. That the preliminary plat of the resubdivision of lots 14, 15, and 19 of
Village on the Green:
a. That the street right-of-way in the North extension and cul-de-sac of
West Village Drive be vacated.
b. That the preliminary plat as submitted be approved and a directional
traffic curb be installed from the existing curb in front of Int 14 to
the proposed driveway to serve the resubdivided Lot 15.
Further recommendations by the Commission are as follows:
1. The preliminary plan of Good Shepard Estates had three separate recommenda-
tions:
a. Approval of lots one (1) through five (5) as shown on the preliminary
plat.
b. Approval of lots one (1) through six (6) providing lot six (6) has a
minimum of BO foot frontage on Cape Rock Drive.

c. Daniel of the preliminary plat of Good Shepard Estates as presented.
2. No one appeared to present the request of Sheldon Garner and Gwendolyn
Stevens for a Special Use Permit for a book store at 2006 Bend Road, so it
was tabled.
