To the Honorable Mayor and Council

Gentlemen:
The
Planning and Zoning Commission met Wednesday, December 13,
1989. By
majority vote, actual vote counted and in the file, we
act and/or
recommend as follows:
1.
That the request of Donald E. and Linda K. Wren to
rezone 1538 Independence Street from M-1, Light
Industrial District, to R-2, Single Family
Residential District, be recommended for approval.
2.
That the request of Jack L. and Sharon A. Sterrett
to rezone Lot 17, Block 4, Cape Meadows Subdivision,
from R-3, Two Family Residential District, to R-4,
Multiple Family Residential District, be recommended
for approval.
3.
That the request of Truman F. and Esther S. Waldrup
and Jack L. and Sharon A. Sterrett to rezone 620
Emerald Street from R-4, Multiple Family Residential
District, to C-1, Local Commercial District, be
recommended for approval.
4.
That as a result of the request for information on
rezoning William Street, from Sprigg Street west to
West End Boulevard, from residential to commercial
zoning, the City staff prepare a proposal to submit
to the Commission for review which may also include
the northwest and southwest corners of the
intersection of William Street and West End
Boulevard. The recommended commercial zone for this
area will be C-2, General Commercial District.
The Commission discussed yearly inspections for merchant
license renewals after receiving information on the number of
merchant licenses issued and whether or not staff changes would be
required. It was recommended that these inspections be made once
every three years, since this time schedule possibly could be
accomplished with existing City staff.
