FLY THE NEW CAPE!
Volume 1
July, 1994
Number 9
'IT ISNT THE HEAT, ITS THE HUMIDITY.'
Have you heard that one phrase as much as the rest of us have? Its HOT, no
matter what's causing it!! And we haven't even reached Missouri's REALLY miserable
time of the year yet.
Speaking of hot, check out TWE's June boardings ... 563! Wow!
Airport Manager Randy Holdman, his secretary Sandy Bloom, and the Airport's
Management Intern, Andy Perry, recently visited 15 travel agencies in Cape Girardeau
and towns in an 80 -mile (or so) radius. They appreciate your taking the time out of
your busy schedule to meet with them; the visits proved to be very enlightening. Your
good comments mean a lot, and your suggestions have been passed along to TWE.
As we've said before, If you have any suggestions or complaints (or even
praise!), please let us know. Airport Management is here to listen and to help; you
can reach the manager's office at 334.6230.

UNBELIEVABLE!
Traditionally, June has been a slow month for Trans World Express. Not so in
'94!
We've experienced THREE record-breaking months in a row!!
April had 510 enp!anements, May had 521, and now June reports In
with 563! 1994 is well on its way to breaking many more records at Cape
Municipal... for example, the first five days of July checked in with 104 boardings! So
far, our July numbers are higher than Marion, Illinois - and that's including a weekend
and holiday schedule, when there aren't as many flights! All of this is made passible
by you, so what else can we say but THANK YOU!
Randy, Sandy, and Andy met with our TWE representative - Teri Jamison - on
Friday, July 1. She passed along a couple of very interesting pieces of information.
First of all, she told us that Cape Girardeau's load factor is now higher than Madison,
Wisconsin's (which is a much larger market) and secondly, TWE'S rates to South
Bend, Indiana have recently been lowered! Teri said the South Bend rates
are now approximately $130 less than they were previouslyll
Also, nothing has been set in concrete but we are being considered for an
additional Sunday flight and possibly an added, early afternoon weekday flight. Like
we said, these two new flights certainly aren't definite, but we are in the running -
thanks to our increased enplanements! Isn't it amazing what happens when everyone
works together, tries to get along with each other, and shows just a little bit of
patience?
NEW TIME
Remember our weekday evening flight that used to leave Cape at 6:30 and was
N AP
then moved to 6:05? It has been moved again, to an even better time!
Beginning Friday, July 1 our evening flight now arrives from St. Louis at 5:20 PM
and departs Cape at 5:40 PM - enabling passengers to make that last bank out of
Lambert! We were told this was needed, and TWE listened!

PROMOTION CONTINUES
TWE's ticket giveaway continues through July, with the drawing being held at
9:00 Monday morning, August 1.
One of the travel agents came up with an excellent idea ... she suggested we give
each agency a copy of the entry form. When a flight is booked from CGI, the agent
can put a form with each ticket. That way the passenger - or the travel agent - can
have the form filled out, ready to be slipped into the box at check-in. This will also
help the TWE agents; like we've mentioned before, sometimes they get extremely
busy and forget about the entry forms. (Also, if a passenger shows up "late" there
usually isn't time to worry about handing out or filling out entry blanks.) So, if you're
one of the agents/agencies that agreed to help your clients and TWE in this
way ... THANK YOUI
TIME'S RUNNING OUT
We told you last month about Balloon Fest '94, which is coming up July 22-24 at
the airport. We also told you that we'll be giving two lucky travel agents two free
tickets to ride in Saturday's balloon race. However.... we MUST receive your name
absolutely no later than Friday, July 15 at 4:00 PM! In case you've forgotten, here's
the very simple rules:
O You must be an employee of a travel agency (owner, manager, full-time, or part-
time employee).
(2) Submit your name (all names from one agency can be submitted at the same
time) on agency letterhead. Mail to "Fly the New Cape"; Cape Girardeau
Municipal Airport; P.O. Box 617; Cape Girardeau, MO 63702-0617 or FAX them
to us at 334-0499.
O The drawing will be held at 9:00 Monday morning, July 18; winners will be
notified immediately.
Good luck!
