Following a closed session for Airport Board members only, Staff joined the Board
and Chairman Walker called the meeting to order at 4:40 PM. Maki made a motion
the minutes of the 3/1/94 meeting be accepted as mailed. Nester seconded and the
motion carried.
Weather permitting, paving of the parking lot will be done the week of 4/18/94,
Holdman gave each person in attendance copies of a letter and two maps, which were
sent to airport employees and tenants, detailing areas to be paved on specific dates.
In other construction -related updates, Holdman reported (1) the water line which
will connect the airport to Nash Road for the fire department has been put under the
parking lot but no date has been given for connection, (2) once written notification is
received from MHTD the ramp extension will begin; and (3) Holdman stated grant
requests have been submitted for runway painting and are under consideration. it
could be as much as two years before money is allocated for the latter project due to
the number of airports which experienced damage during last summer's flood.
Holdman reported that during the last TWE promotion, which ran 3/4/94 - 4/10/94,
105 of 450 passengers filled out entry blanks. Of this number, approximately 30%-
35% were from Cape Girardeau and 13% lived within 80 miles, proving CGI is indeed
a regional airport. TWE's enplanements for January, February, and March, 1994 were
the highest they've been in four years; to -date, they are 21% above last year. Maki
asked if 10,000 enplanements for the year would benefit the airport financially;
Holdman replied that number would mean an additional $400,000.
An individual interested in investing in the airport received one of the marketing
videos and was impressed with what he saw. Holdman handed out copies of a survey
the potential investor recently sent to approximately 200 businesses within 80 miles of
CGI, asking if an Executive FBO would benefit their company and which services they
would like to see offered. Some of the Airport Board members expressed concern this
person could be "blowing smoke'; Heldman told them the interested party is a
dealmaker who is a retired United States Air Force pilot, was in banking in Cape
Girardeau at one time, and currently holds a seat on the New York Stock Exchange.
. Another former resident of Cape Girardeau, who is now involved with Scottsdale
Airpark in Arizona, is also interested in investing in Cape Girardeau Municipal Airport.

Holdman informed the Airport Board there are three potential businesses
interested in locating to CGI.
Wandrick asked Holdman if he knew anything about MMECO re -locating their
business to Airport Road. Holdman replied they are putting their South Kingshighway
CASE dealership north of Capetown RV.
The Great American Circus will be held on the airport Friday, April 15. Due to all
the rain they will be set up on the east ramp instead of in the field.
Maki made a motion the Airport Board enter into closed session. Wandrick
seconded and the motion carried.
The Airport Board returned to regular session and adjourned at 6:40 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
