IV. NEW BUSINESS
A. Summary of 2011 Flooding Issues — Mr. Loy gave a quick summary of the airport flooding
problems during recent heavy rains. Ile explained that the rains caused flooding onto Runway
10-28 at the intersection with 02-20 and Taxiway Delta. Mr. Loy noted flooding was caused
by heavy mnoff front rain waters accumulating in the fields South and East of the airport and
draining to the Nest toward the Little River Drainage District ditches on the Nest side of the
airfield. Mr. Loy further explained that the water culvert running under Taxiway Delta and
Runway 02 is simply not able to handle the heavy volumes of water, so the water has to run
over Taxiway Delta and Runway 02, causing major water encroachment onto Runway 10-28.
