Wandrick made a motion Holdman make the appropriate changes to the Airport Master Plan and submit them to the Federal Aviation Administration no later than October 1, 1993. Waltz seconded the motion and the motion carried. The impact the recent flood had on the airport was discussed. During the flood there were approximately 300 military and 400-500 civilian flights at the airport. Holdman suggested using the fad the diversion channel levee held as a springboard for the future. Walker asked about the EAS subsidy. Holdman stated TWE was the only carrier that applied and he doesn't know when a decision will be forthcoming. He has been told the current service will continue until further notice. Along this same line, Holdman told the Airport Board the total boarding at the airport are "way up" from the beginning of the year; projections show there will be 8500-9000 enplanements at the end of the current year. Holdman explained three components figure into the total enplanements: (1) TWE's enplanements (which are up), (2) other enplanements on the field (which are down) and (3) reporting is voluntary (Procter R Gamble's charter company did not give a report until asked). Walker asked how the airport's student intern worked out during the summer. Holdman's reply was "Money well spent." The intern will possibly spend his Christmas break at the airport as well. Staff reported several pilots have expressed interest in subscribing to a weather satellite system which gives radar imagery. These "subscribers' would like to put the system in the new `► terminal building instead of at Cape Central Airways. Staff suggested installing the system in the Business Service Center, making it accessible to anyone during regular business hours; after hours, the subscribers could have access to the system only if they first contacted the on -duty weather observer for admittance to the room. It was discussed the City should issue a revocable license/permission to put the system in the terminal. No definite decision was reached and the matter was tabled until the October meeting. Leslie stated the City will look into the DUAT system the City installed at Cape Central Airways and see it something needs to be done with it. Waltz made a motion the Airport Board enter into executive session to discuss lease issues. Nesler seconded the motion and the motion carried. The Airport Board came out of executive session and adjourned at 6:00 PM. Respectfully submitted, a '17lGtl c .I cdGVi.t Sandra L.
