SPECIAL SESSION—June 5,2020
CALL TO ORDER
The Cape Girardeau City Council convened in regular session on Friday, June 5, 2020, at 4:30
p.m., with Mayor Bob Fox presiding and Council Members Shelly Moore, Dan Presson, and Nate
Thomas present. Ryan Essex, Robbie Guard, and Stacy Kinder were absent.
ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA
A Motion was made by Dan Presson, Seconded by Nate Thomas, to approve and adopt.
Motion passed. 4-0. Ayes: Fox, Moore, Presson,Thomas. Absent: Essex, Guard, Kinder.
CANVASS THE RETURNS AND DECLARE THE RESULTS OF THE JUNE 2, 2020,
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
Mayor Fox stated that the June 2, 2020, election results had been received from County Clerk
Kara Clark Summers. Pursuant to Section 7.09(a) of the City Charter, the City Council canvassed
the returns and declared the results of the June 2, 2020,General Municipal Election as follows:

CITY COUNCIL MEMBER WARD 4
Robbie Guard - 699

A Motion was made by Nate Thomas, Seconded by Shelly Moore to approve.
Motion passed. 4-0. Ayes: Fox, Moore, Presson, Thomas. Absent: Essex, Guard, Kinder.
MEETING ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the Cape Girardeau City Council special session ended at 4:39
p.m.

OATHS OF OFFICE FOR CITY COUNCIL MEMBER FOR WARDS 3 AND 5
City Clerk Gayle Conrad administered the Oaths of Office to Nate Thomas for the Office of
Council Member Ward 3, and to Shannon Truxel for the Office of Council Member Ward 5.
