CALL TO ORDER
The Cape Girardeau City Council convened in special session on Monday, August 12, 2019, at
11:45 a.m., with Mayor Bob Fox presiding and Council Members Ryan Essex, Robbie Guard,
Shelly Moore, and Dan Presson present. Stacy Kinder was absent.
ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA
A Motion was made by Ryan Essex, Seconded by Robbie Guard, to approve and adopt the
Agenda.
Motion passed. 5-0. Ayes: Essex, Fox, Guard, Moore, Presson. Absent: Kinder
CANVASS THE RETURNS AND DECLARE THE RESULTS OF THE AUGUST 6, 2019,
SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
Mayor Fox stated that the August 6, 2019, election results had been received from County Clerk
Kara Clark Summers. Pursuant to Section 7.09(a) of the City Charter, the City Council canvassed
the returns and declared the results of the August 6, 2019, Special Municipal Election as follows:
CAPE GIRARDEAU CITY QUESTION
(extension of Capital Improvements sales tax)
Yes— 1,072
No—401
A Motion was made by Robbie Guard, Seconded by Dan Presson, to approve.
Motion passed. 5-0. Ayes: Essex, Fox, Guard, Moore, Presson. Absent: Kinder
MEETING ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the Cape Girardeau City Council special session ended at
11:47 a.m.
