11 SPECIAL SESSION — SEPTEMBER 14,2011 11
The Cape Girardeau City Council convened in special session on Wednesday, September 14,
2011, at 5:00 p.m., with Mayor Pro Tempore Loretta Schneider presiding and Council Members
Mark Lanzotti, Meg Proffer, Loretta Schneider, Kathy Swan, Debra Tracy and John Voss present
Mayor Harry Rediger was absent
Mr. Voss made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Swan, to adopt the Agenda as presented. The motion
was approved upon the following vote: Ayes, Lanzotti, Proffer, Schneider, Swan, Tracy and Voss.
Nays, none.
Mayor Pro -Tem Schneider acknowledged a Proclamation issued by Mayor Harry Rediger
recognizing and commending Southeast Missouri State University on the beginning of the 5t'
season at the River Campus. There will be a kickoff open house on Saturday, September It, and
the public is invited to attend.
BILL NO. I 1- 148 was given second and third readings as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, REAFFIRMING THE
GROSS RECEIPTS TAXES TO BE IMPOSED UPON LIGHT AND POWER COMPANIES
CONDUCTING BUSINESS WITHIN THE CITY, AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION 15-240
OF THE CITY CODE RELATED THERETO
The second and third readings of BILL NO. 11-148 were approved and the ordinance adopted
upon Mrs. Swan's motion, Mrs. Tracy's second, and the following vote: Ayes, Lanzotti, Proffer,
Schneider, Swan, Tracy, and Voss. Nays, none. BILL NO. I I - 148 is ORDINANCE NO. 4267.
There being no further business, the City Council adjourned upon Mr. Lanzotti's motion, Mr.
Voss' second, and the following vote: Ayes, Lanzotti, Proffer, Schneider, Swan, Tracy and Voss.
Nays, none.
