SPECIAL SESSION — APRIL 6, 2012
The Cape Girardeau City Council convened in special session on Friday, April 6, 2012, at 5:00
p.m., with Mayor Harry Rediger presiding and Council Members Meg Proffer, Loretta Schneider,
Kathy Swan, Debra Tracy, and John Voss present. Council Member Mark Lanzotti was absent.
Mayor Rediger stated that the April 3, 2012, municipal election results had been received from
County Clerk Kara Clark Summers. Pursuant to Section 7.09(a) of the City Charter, the City
Council canvassed the returns and declared the results of the April 3, 2012, general election, upon
Mr. Voss' motion, Mrs. Swan's second, and the following vote: Ayes, Proffer, Rediger, Schneider,
Swan, Tracy, and Voss. Nays, none. The results of the election were asfollows:

Mayor Rediger thanked Mrs. Schneider and Mr. Lanzotti for their commitment to serve on the
Council for another four years, and he congratulated Mr. Trent Summers for winning his bid as
Ward 3 Council Member.

Mr. Trent Summers, Mrs. Loretta Schneider, and Mr. Mark Lanzotti were given the Oath of Office
by City Clerk Gayle Conrad.
Mrs. Tracy wished Mr. Summers good luck asthe new Ward 3 Council Member.
There being no further business, the City Council adjourned upon Mrs. Swan's motion, Mrs.
Proffer's second, and the following vote: Ayes, Lanzotti, roffer, Rediger, Schneider, Summers,
Swan, and Voss. Nays, none.
