The meeting was called to order by Paul Miles. The minutes of the last
meeting were approved as read.
Al Stcverink reported on City ��lanager's Report # 1.34--Council recummended
a summary on the ruri way to pin point the low spots. Fngineering f'irm
does n�.ot recommend overlay. Grooving will solve the problem according to
I�omer-�Shifrin to correct "puddling". �11 Stoverink does not fee1. that
grooving of entire runway will be necessary since large aircraft will
probably not be landing in the future due to airline deregulatiori. Stoverink
report;ed that P'AA is encouraging us to cover the ditch. The project would
run about .�'a100,000. Ilorner-S}iifrin recommended a new ditch to correct drainage
problem. Cost would be about $40,000. Lowes is not in agreement with this
project.
Dave F'atterson moved that tive retain Horner-Shifrin to prepare a master plan
for tlie Airport. Seconded by Glenn lteeves. Motion carried. Patterson
feels that we rieed a holding area and this should not be hel.d up unduely.
Patterson moved that we proceed with the grooving project to the degree
that experts feel is necessary. Seconded by Reeves. Motion carried.

additional air service or if the Airport Board shoulcl do the work. 'I'lie
feeling c�f the Bc>ara is that the Chamber should con�inue to pursue the airline
problf:m and keep the Airport P,oard informed.
Ilendr:ix asked the Bo�_lyd if we should get Jackson, Sikeston and Cape together
to taLk �.o Ozark. Airport Board feels this is a good idea and should be
pt�r5ued. :�(iles su�gestcd we get a representative of Proctor and Gar-'�le to
attend this meeting.
