AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVYING OF THE
ANNUAL CITY REVENUE TAX; PUBLIC HEALTH TAX;
SPECIAL BUSINESS DISTRICT NO. 2 TAX; FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR ENDING ON THE 30TH DAY OF JUNE,
2024
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1 . There is hereby levied for the fiscal year ending
on the 30th day of June, 2024, a City revenue tax of Thirty and
Forty-two One Hundredths Cents ($ . 3042) on the One Hundred Dollars
($100. 00) assessed valuation of all property within the City limits
made taxable by law for state and county purposes and not by
general law exempt from taxation for municipal purposes .
ARTICLE 2 . There is hereby levied for the fiscal year ending
on the 30th day of June, 2024, a public health tax of Five and
Seventy One Hundredths Cents ($ . 0570) on the One Hundred Dollars
($100. 00) assessed valuation of all property within the City limits
made taxable by law for state and county purposes and not by
general law exempt from taxation for municipal purposes .
ARTICLE 3 . There is hereby levied for Special Business
District No. 2 of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, for the fiscal year
ending on the 30th day of June, 2024, an ad valorem real estate tax
of Sixty-seven and Eighty-nine One Hundredths Cents ($ . 6789) on the
One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) assessed valuation of all real estate
within the Special Business District No. 2 of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, not by general law exempt from taxation.
ARTICLE 4 . If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid
or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such
portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent
provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions hereof.
ARTICLE 5 . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and. approval.
