AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, REGARDING OFF—STREET PARKING
REGULATIONS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1 . Section 25-47, entitled "Required number of
spaces", of Article II of Chapter 25 of the City Code, reading
as follows:
Sec. 25-47 . Required number of spaces .
I Parking Spaces I Stacking Spaces
Residential Uses
1. Single-family detached dwellings, 2 for each dwelling unit
two-family(duplex)dwellings,
townhouses,and mobile homes
2. Multifamily dwellings
• Efficiency and one-bedroom 1.5 for each dwelling unit
dwelling units _
• Dwelling units with two or more 2 for each dwelling unit
bedrooms
3. Dormitories,fraternities,sororities 2 for each 3 occupants based on the
and other student housing maximum occupancy
Commercial Uses
4. Animal hospitals,veterinary clinics, 1 for each 300 square feet of total

* The number of stacking spaces may be reduced by twenty (20)
percent for each additional drive-up window or ATM, ordering
window or station, or washing stall provided; however, there
shall be at least two (2) stacking spaces at each drive-up window
or ATM, ordering window or station, or washing stall.

entitled "Required number of parking and stacking spaces", of
Article II of Chapter 25 of the. City Code, is hereby enacted in
lieu thereof, in words and figures, to read as follows, to-wit:
Sec. 25-47 . - Required number of parking and stacking spaces .
Parking and stacking spaces shall be provided in accordance with the following table. If a
calculation results in a fractional number or decimal equivalent, then such number shall be
rounded up to the nearest whole number.

ARTICLE 2 . If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held
invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct
and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions hereof.
ARTICLE 3 . It is the intention of the governing body and
it is hereby ordained that the provisions of this ordinance
shall become and be made a part of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and the sections of this Code
may be renumbered to accomplish such intention.
ARTICLE 4 . This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and approval.
