WHEREAS , The United Fund organization of Cape Girardeau is
a wholly necessary group of agencies which serves its citizens , and
WHEREAS, the eight participating members are dependent upon the
United Fund for their annual operating budgets , and
WHEREAS , one joint effort successfully concluded precludes eight
separate agency campaigns , and
WHEREAS , the goal of $ 75 , 690. 00 for the year 1963-64 is attainable
with continued concerted effort , now therefore ,
I , Walter H. Ford, Mayor of the City of Cape Girardeau , Missouri ,
do hereby proclaim Friday, October 11 , 1963, to be UNITED FUND DAY
and urge that all citizens of Cape Girardeau observe said day as a day
of united effort to achieve the goal of $75 , 690. 00 .
