WHEREAS , Hinkle Statler was elected Mayor of the City of Cape
Girardeau in 1940 and served as such with distinction until 1942
wheh he resigned in order to serve his country in the U. S. Navy
and
WHEREAS, said Hinkle �tatler died on the 23rd day of April , 1962,
and in his untimely passing , the City of Cape Girardeau suffered the
loss of a fine citizen , supporter and friend, now therefore ,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau ,
Missouri that the City ex�ess its sense of loss upon the untimely
death of Hinkle Statler , former Mayor of said City , and express to
his widow and family , on behalf of the City Council and of all the
citizens of Cape Girardeau , its sincere sympathy.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the
records of the City and that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Mrs. Catherine Statler, the widow of Hinkle Statler.
Passed and approved this 23rd day of �pr�11962.
