HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES.12-19-1979.Grant for Airport Runways - ' �. � A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION FOR A FEDERAL GRANT FOR THE COST OF GROOVING THE INTERSECTION OF RUNWAYS 10-28 AND 2-20 AND FOR THE COST OF CONSTRUCTING A PASSENGER SECURITY HOLDING AREA AT THE CAPE GIRARDEAU MUNICIPAL AIRPORT WHEREAS, the Airport and Airway Development Act of 1970 was signed into law on May 21, 1970, relating to airport development projects with subsequent amendments signed into law in 1971, 1973, and 1976; and WHEREAS, the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, a Municipal Corporation, herein sometimes referred to as "Applicant" desires to groove the runway intersection and construct a passenger security holding area at the Cape Girardeau Municipal Airport; and WHEREAS, money is available from the Federal Aviation Administration for a Federal Grant for the cost of these improvements at the Cape Girardeau Municipal Airport. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: l. That an application be made to the Federal Aviation Administration for a Federal grant for the cost of grooving the runway intersection and constructing a passenger security holding area at the Cape Girardeau Municipal Airport. 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute and file such application with the Federal Aviation Administration, to provide additional information and to furnish such documents and give assurances as may be required by said Federal Aviation Administration, and to execute such contracts as are required by said Federal Aviation Administration, and to act as the authorized correspondent of the Applicant. � , PASSED AND APPROVED THIS � DAY OF� /�, lC{��.y72,(��-E''.�/ , 19��. r �.��...'1.�-���.�. `..j�.� ATTEST: MAYOR ����C_� �-c���._� CITY CLERK
